Cambodia and Laos
Cambodia and Laos are magical lands steeped in history and cultural diversity which stretches back through the centuries. Together these countries offer the discerning tourists a veritable treasure trove of unique experiences. Everywhere you go you will find the old and the new competing for its place in the present.
Although one of Southeast Asia’s smallest countries, Cambodia offers many must-see sights. The highlights include Tonle Sap, Southeast Asia’s largest freshwater lake, journeys down the Mighty Mekong River that carves the country in two and remains the lifeblood of the country; the bustling capital, Phnom Penh; and the former prison camps and the notorious Killing Fields where millions of Cambodians were imprisoned and killed under the brutal regime of Pol Pot.
But most visited and well known, are the remains of the mighty Khmer Empire – most notably Angkor Wat. Here immense and dazzling cities and temples decorated with intricate stone carvings to honour both their gods and themselves were built. At its height in the late 12th century, Angkor is believed to have been home to about one million people, making it one of the largest cities on earth at that time.
Then there are the more typical Southeast Asian attractions – frenetic cities crammed with rickshaws, exotic food, blissful beaches, tropical jungles teeming with wildlife and full of tribal villages. There are few places that have been through as much as Cambodia, but this optimistic nation has belied its tumultuous history and emerged as one of the warmest, most welcoming destinations in Southeast Asia.
With Thailand on one side and Vietnam on the other, you might expect Laos to be commercial and crowded, but this is Asia’s backwater, where life moves slower. A long-running civil war kept the country off the mainstream tourist circuit for many years, but Laos is now proving to become a popular destination. Eco-tourism is very popular – visitors are taken to remote tribal villages and pristine national parks teeming with wildlife.
The laidback atmosphere and the relative lack of modern development make Laos perhaps the most authentic and unspoiled of the Southeast Asia nations.

Have a lovely day..
When we started talking about going to Thailand, a colleague, Anna Leppan, insisted we use the some Travel Agent and Travel Experts she used April last year. That following week, I made the call and I am so glad I did!
From our first interaction with Janine Mostert, we received excellent and very professional service. Janine was very accommodating to adjust the plans according to our needs and budget a couple of times. Everything abroad; flights, taxis, ferry, hotels, etc. was arranged with great care and good planning. Being our first time abroad, we were very anxious at first, but soon found out that we did not have to worry about a thing, everything run like clockwork. Thinking back, we would not change a thing.
Thank you Janine and Perfect Destinations, for ensuring a good experience all around.
You truly deserve a great big giant THANK YOU, for your PATIENT and being very helpful with our booking. Your service was truly amazing you kept me informed always and you went an extra mile to make sure that the hotel hold our booking. Please keep up the good service I truly appreciate. Once more thank you, in Mzantsi we say “Ke a leboha”.
I would just like to thank Kaycee for all her help and assistance with my booking request, she always kept me in informed about the status of the quote, friendly and efficient a real pleasure to work with.
Firstly, thank you so very much for all your help and the trouble you went to with assisting me with my many requests and problems. The stay was wonderful, way too short, but wonderful. I owe you big time, your level of customer service is impeccable and I must say was very unexpected and very refreshing. Thank you again
Dankie vir al jou moeite, waardeur dit vreeslik, sal beslis weer n vakansie deur jou boek!!
It has always been a pleasure dealing with you. Always smiling, enthusiastic and excited to assist, very refreshing in this day and age and especially after all these years. Thank you for always going the extra mile to assist.
Thank you so much for your prompt service and always doing it with a smile, I wish more consultants could give me the service you given thus far. Thank you once again for helping with those Visas not working at Emirates it would not have been possible, however for you it was a walk in the park.
Perfect Destinations have now handled 3 “delicate” bookings for me – a honeymoon, and 2 bookings for close family, and their service has been faultless – not to mention vastly competitive. Answers to the (local!!) telephone number are close to instant and always cheerful and professional. I would not hesitate to recommend Perfect Destinations, and Jessica in particular, for all Far East options.
I have been selling the Far East for years – and it is always the same ol same ol… the same mindless combinations sold by consultants who might or might not have ever visited the destinations. When I followed up an eye-catching ad from Travelinfo, I was very pleasantly to encounter Jessica Smith at Perfect Destinations! A fresh enthusiasm, a very sound knowledge of her product and efficient response time to any query has made it a delight to deal with her.
Lize is a wonderful consultant that is very knowledgeable about the destinations that she sells. She is not scared to advise on different options for client. And is always quick to quote, amend and help where she can. Out of my 6 years as a Travel Agent, Lize definitely ranks in my Top 5 persons to work with!
Many thanks for the documents and for calling me earlier today. It has been an absolute pleasure dealing with you. I am so happy that I bumped into Heidi a few months ago and we chatted about Perfect Destinations and she gave me your details. Your service is outstanding, great prices and excellent attention to detail. It is wonderful in this day and age to get “good old fashioned” friendly service. I will look forward to working with you in future.
